As part of the shift to digital television transition, many stations will also be shifting their channel assignments; scanning your converter box should bring in most of the available channels in your area. However, some may find it neccessary to enter the new digital channels into their converter box "manually" (consult your converter box manual).
Those watching local television on cable and satellite will likely notice no change. However, if you view local television through an off-air antenna, you will be affected.
The stations you've been watching for years will still be available - but might be found at a different channel number after the digital transition.
Below is a chart of all Michigan Television Stations, along with their present channel assignments, current digital broadcasting assignment - plus their permanent digital channel assignment. Note: there may be some minor permanent digital channel changes with a few stations in the state. This list will be updated as changes occur.
As television stations shift their digital channel assignments between now and June 12, 2009 you'll need to "rescan" your digital converter box. Best advice: if you're missing a channel you've been viewing, rescan your converter box to see if that resolves the issue.
